windows explorer problem

hi,

I have a problem with windows explorer. whenever i close it, i get some error, saying, "windows explorer has encountered some problem and it needs to close" and there are three buttons "debug" "send error report" and "dont send". i press "dont send" and next screen it says, "an error has occured in internet explorer. if u continue to experience this problem, then pls restart".

pls help me with this,

Do you use Windows Explorer to browse a CD/DVD ROM drive ? And after taking the disc out, while the explorer is still on the same drive and u try to close it ? or while browsing floopy drive ?

This kind of error may also had happened when ur browsing a folder with large files in it and trying to close the windows explorer before loading the files properly ?

Or maybe your explorer.exe is corrupt.

well i dont know if the prob is with the explorer.exe but yes if you want to replace that file then try replacing your original explorer.exe by simple copy and paste by making any vague file as explorer.exe and the windows will on its own replace that file by another fresh explorer.exe, which happens due to xp's inbuilt safety measure.

I wud first try replacing the explorer.exe file with the original one and also iexplore.exe and if nothing works we do have

sfc /scannow from run or task manager, make sure ur terminating the explorer.exe file tastmanager and then run it from task manager > New Task then type the command and make sure ur install cd is in
