I had dual booting with Mandrake 10.1 and XP (with Win98 option, factually triple booting). I tried to change to Mepis, and Mepis did not want to use the partition scheme followed by Mandrake and insisted in repartitioning. And while doing so, it failed and gave the message that it cannot continue. As a result I lost both my OSes. However, I booted into Mandrake CD and through Rescue option, recovered my Windows boot loader. It worked fine for two days. Today suddenly it is failing to open and it insists on reactivating (that too has failed over the internet through the no. it dials to reactivate. I will have to manually dial the STD no. to get it reactivated. (The toll free number does no5t work). But how could it be possible that my activation code entry in the Registry is gone??
