i am trying to boot to my win xp pro (sp2 64bit) but a message comes that
"<Winnt_root>\System32\Hal.dll missing or corrupt:
Please re-install a copy of the above file."
and when i try to boot another version of windows the same message appears i m not able to go to setup menu .
also after i try to recover it from my win xp cd another error comes that "setup cannot copy the file blah.....blah....dll"
now can any1 guide me what shud i do !!!!!!!!

p.s. : my pc compaq v6000 only supports xp n vista
