i generally dont buy genuine software like you but upgraded windows 8...Because if you use pirated one u shouldn't update it..
or you should be a techie to understand which update causes the problems...
If you dont,one day you will find windows completely disabled with messages like

you are a victim of software piracy,this windows is not genuine please purchase a genuine version...

Now you have to completely format the hard disk and install everything again..lot of pain...

OP, if you really like W8, just upgrade it. Else, don't because W8 is tablet-centric or better suited for touch-driven displays.

Microsoft account is the center of Windows 8. Just like google account in android phone it contains your email accounts, details of all the apps you use and the user id/password used to login with. Plus you get 7gb free cloud storage. Pirating may get your MS account deactivated which will take the fun out of Win8

Oh come on now. 600 bucks is very affordable, I don't like Windows 8 or I would even give 2000 bucks for a OS but its 4-7K mark that gives me headache about the money for softwares. If you like Win 8 then its more than worth 600 bucks. If you don't then stick with Win 7 very simple.

I too read about loopwhole where you can upgrade the to windows 8 for free. In your case, since you already has a official copy of windows 7 , why to get a pirated version of windows 8. If 700 is too much of you, dont upgrade it, windows 7 is pretty good OS on its own and there are few driver issues still there in Windows 8. And who if Microsoft come back later on check on you about the validity of your OS, so better to be safe.

Rs. 700 is affordable. You can spend.

And yes, if one can spend 55K on a top-of-the-line laptop, he can surely spend Rs. 700 on an operating system or Rs. 1000 on a good game. (once in a while).
