1) ok battery life. you can use it better. both have similar capacity battery. because of some wifi issue nexus 5 sucks more power.. &
no lagging means nexus only.
Multitasking is not properly developed.. and also I don't understand it properly, humans can't do multitasking (disadvantage). while watching movie how you can write word files? impossible.. you can't even concentrate.. think about it.. staying focused is good deal.. there are apps for multitasking. I never tried.. you can try both nexus and sony have same soc so does not matter.
2) nexus 5 build is good not great. but it surely looks sexy in hands. good grip and hold (black color nexus 5).
3) Camera is good not great.. I'm not into camera much so my choice was nexus 5. but its good one. if you are truly a photographer and really know how to capture perfect shots, camera is only thing your primary choice then its Z3 compact for you.
otherwise its nexus. I'm happy with camera.. it's not selfie cam. I can capture pretty well images, but no issue.. HDR mode can save you for good+ photos.
4) all your suggested are 1 gb and more.
5) Card slot is not needed.
"google told that they prefer apps on device memory because this gives fast access. sometimes memory cards are slower this can affect overall performance of that app if installed or moved on sd card. thats why i never suggest to consider card slot phone".
both have same storage.. so it's totally on you which to decide.
nexus 5 supports OTG, buy cable (50rs max price), or buy otg pen drives (dual pen drives) for expansion...

strong memory cards, performance wise does not affect the performance as yours. but what if he want to watch 4k movie and his memory card has worse speed then?? it will be slo mo type video.
OTG is good choice for storing. may be this can also affect if 4k played on otg..

1) please try another joke.. definition defers from people to people.. in India is true example... but stick to scientific definition.. because we are in science age.

5) might be,, but not all people can buy same sd card.. so it's defined by google to use only device storage nothing extra. increase internals no expansion. some follows some don't..

ohh thanks.. but every phone does that background work.. but seamless works depend on processor ram... so np with 800...

If you want a decent battery, then it has got the combined battery of Z1C + Nexus 5 or even more.

Thing is if you want proper updates, then go for N5 otherwise Z3C beats it in every department by a fair margin; battery and camera should not even be compared.

PS: The size of Z3C is aesthetically much better, and better in the long run.

The only problem with Z3C is it's too expensive (39,900) currently. Maybe if it comes down it can be thought of. Until then it's either Z1C or N5

Price of Nexus 5 keeps changing in FK & amazon. i don't know why. Moto X2 has got 5.2 inches in display. And not so good on the camera department.so don't want to buy.

Than I guess you have to see windows phone. Coz these two are the best.

I did read all the posts. But since OP had mentioned that Z3C at one instance (minus cost issues), so discussion started from there itself.

k. it's not op it was eureka (it was typo mistake) who mentioned z3c. (see post 15).. and op has not mentioned z3 c..
Actually z3c is not in the competition and its not required here in this budget.. so no discussion..
I'm not saying that op has problem or not.. i don't have any problem with you, you said you read all post.. but seems like you were not..
And I'm not pinning any point.. z3 c is better.. but not in this post because of budget..

I was always ok with N5 and never considered Sony Z1C until i saw the spec and review on gsmarena. But after reading the review, it's looks much much better than N5. Of course, i don't know anyone who is actually using the handset. I have seen a lot of people in this forum recommending N5. But can i get a view about N5 Vs Sony Z1C from anyone who has actually used both set?

Nexus 5 is better imho
Z1C has self cracking issues like mentioned before and updates may be an issue in the long run
