I have Kaspersky 8 and its not so good... But i left with no choice as i buy it... BTW some of my friends tell me that Norton is good....

Kaspersky FTW !!

just check out what type of software you want ... Kaspersky Anti Virus or Kaspersky Internet security...

IMO, Kaspersky Internet security should be the best option !

Democracy is a myth
it totally depends on ur usage.
U r not explaining wat do u men by HOME USE. As soon as ur PC is connected to internet, u r open to all those virus, trojan, worms etc.

If only mails, orkut and NO warez site is ur primary motto. Go for a free solution.
AVG8+Komodo Firewall would do ur job without spending any money.

i mainly want anti-virus, anti-spy and good firewall... but im also going to start online stock trading.... so for this purpose is it good to buy the whole suit i guess.. i mean for in general online banking (eg. paypal, i may use it in future) its good to go for the full suit right ?

how is Quick Heal Total Security 2008 ?

Why would onw want to purchase an antivirus?

Use Avira Antivir + Comodo Personal Firewall + Lavasoft antispyware.

yea but there must be some difference in free and paid.. companies aren't fools.. some charge money, some shoot for free..... how is Quick Heal Total Security 2008 ?

Here Since 2003
My opinion : Quick Heal is total crap. Norton 09 isnt bad, but it automatically gets rid of anything it thinks is a virus. That drives me nuts. My choice would be Kaspersky.

Anyway, all AV related discusisons should go here.
