It is an Intel board using ATi Xpress chipsets and ATi 200m graphics - usually seen in laptops. Since the board doesnt use the chipset from intel but it still comes from Intel - hence the name third party chipset. I was shocked too when a friend of mine told me to get drivers for a similar board as to how on earth can an intel board have ati graphics. This board doesnt support DDR2 RAM. Which is a blessing in disguise if you dont want to spend on new DDR2 memory. there is another variant of this board which is based on DDR2 memory too. It is a tricky thing to compare it with 945 in general.
its not a laptop mobo its a desktop 1.i have bought it only bcoz of ati grafhics.
__________
D101 doesnt support ddr2 but D102 supports ddr2 ram 553Mhz & 600 mhz
__________
but for performance which is better amongst dem?
intel chipsets are costly as a result many laptop manufacturers stick to Ati chipsets to cut down cost. Moreover ATi chipsets feature these 200m graphics which are better compared to the intel's gma950.
As for your initial query, i guess you got your answer.
thnx sourabh i got the 1st answer for 3rd party chipsets but can it be compared with 945 chipsets on basis of performance??? & whose grafhics is better?
