It depends upon vendor from whom you purchased. I had got faulty HDD from smcinternational and they did the RMA without providing original bill(i had lost the bill).i had just given the invoice number which i remembered.
They will ask if they cannot find the required details. If that doesn't work, you can send an email to Sapphire and see if they can send an authorisation letter for the distri/service centre. If it doesn't violate any T&C, it should be an issue.
