Here, no one is fanboy or biased and suggest which is the best for OP's budget. You tell me, why should OP go with an i3 3220 instead of an FX-6300 with some valid points and we will happy to reconsider our suggestion.

Total Cost - 22.2K

> Change the ram to 1600 MHz instead of 1333 MHZ. The price difference between the two is about 150 to 200.

> For 8k, you can get HD7770.

Naah, it was more of a personal opinion. Nothing to offend. 6300 has 6 cores? But I have read that 8350 which is touted as having 8 cores isn't actually having 8 real cores. Something like Intel's HT? I ain't sure, But so long as my games are single or dual threaded I'd hum over with Intel's higher IPC's.

^^ It is something between a Hyper threaded core and true dual core, closer to a dual core design. All the FX series have module based design where each modules are consisting of two integer cores but shares single Floating point unit. AMD tried to optimize it by sharing the less frequently used units whereas doubling the more frequently used units. So an 8 Core CPU actually has 4 Modules, consisting of 2 cores each, resulting an 8 Core design to OS.
