Want to purchase a graphics card

I want to purchase a Graphics card for my computer and my budget is 3000, I m from Bangalore. Below is my computer configuration. I hope you guys will help me. Thanks in advance.

Processor - Intel core 2 duo E7400 2.80GHz
Mother board- Gigabyte G31MFS2
Memory - DDR2 2GB
Harddisk- 1TB

You can go in for a radeon 5570 or nvidia gt240 which will be better as you have a decent config. Just increase your budget to at best 1k. Even the zotac 9600gt eco is available for 3.6k.

By the way which psu you have?

^^HD5570 costs more than 4.5k.Only Sapphire's 5570 is for 4.2k.n 1GB GT 240 starts from 5k.Only XFX's 512MB GT240 is available for 4.4k.
@OP - u better save up another 2k n go for Sapphire HD5670 512MB.

What's the screen size and at what res do you want to game at?
Maybe by the time you save some more, GTS 450 prices fall a bit hopefully and you will have saved up enough for one.
(provided you have a good PSUto handle that)

i suggest you to buy Zotac Geforce 9400GT 1Gb. its great i am using the same Graphics card the performance is good. i have played crysis warhead in high settings without any issues.

and the price of this is Rs.2400 to Rs.2600.

I've seen 9600GT cryin out while running Crysis at high settings.There's no way 9400GT wud b able to run d game at such settings.U must b playin at low resolution!!

Thank You for your reply's. I would be able to increase my budget till 5 if i would be getting a better with which I will be able to play upcoming games with better performance. The main thing i m looking at is performance and also I cant upgrade the GPU now and then. I know with this budget i m asking very much but thats my need.

Thank you Vicky for the answer. The PSU I m having is Frontech with 450w. Will this be enough or need to change it.

get a Sapphire HD5670 512MB at around 4.8-5k.

The PSU may run the gfx card but it's better to invest in a good PSu like FSP SAGA II 350W at 1.5 or Gigabyte Superb 460W at 2.1k.
