The solution of playing Full HD content is to add a graphics card, even a lower end is sufficient. Now all the current generation graphics cards are based on PCI Express slots. But sadly, your motherboard does not have any PCI Express slot, so you can't go for it.
Please check if you have an AGP slot present in your motherboard. Because some of the 1st gen 845 chipsets don't have AGP slot also.
If you have AGP slot then you can add an ATI HD 3650 512 MB AGP Graphics card, available within 3.5K.
This graphics card can handle your full HD playback.

Thank u very much, i will try.

Is it worth on spending 11k (8k for lcd & 3k for graphics) on this old computer or should i opt for a sub 20k complete pc. My main use is movie viewing.

Plz recommend a 20 inch lcd monitor for movie viewing under 7.5k

Extremely sorry buddy. Was a bit busy so didn't check. I would suggest to ditch the current pc and sell it off. Then go for a decent performing pc built from scratch.

Fill in the pc building questionaire template and we will suggest you the best config. for your budget.
