Wanna buy a basic Pen drive-cum-mp3 player

Guys,I wanna buy a basic Pen drive-cum-mp3 player under Rs. 1200
music quality doesn't matter as i'll be listening to mp3s made by text to speech program,playing at only 22kbps quality.Data storage capacity is a priority.

in that case look towards sandisk or transend. i have 1GB sandisk and its very nice its got FM tuner too and you can create your own equlizer, both of which are not there in ipod.

the price is what i do not know of certain as it was gifted, and any way it is definitely cheaper than IPOD.

Sandisk is NOT a Local Brand. Its one of the Leaders in Flash Memory devices!

As chicha said, Go for Sandisk Sansa Players, well but, they dont have a direct USB port. Instead they have a USB cable. (with its own interface)

If you particularly want a direct USB Port, go for either Sony or Samsung YEPP MP3 Players.

Samsung is good! Should cost you ~3-4k for 2GB Player.

Why not Transcend T.sonic 820-840. I own this(820) and feelin amazing

4GB costs around Rs.4000.

It has got video playing feature(mtv format), ebook reader (txt), radio, mp3(mp3,wav,wma), recording etc.

But it doesnt hav text to speech reader.

Dont get a Transcend if using it as a pen-drive matters a lot. Cause Transcend players require USB-to-USBmini cables to interface and that's gonna be a problem carrying around. Look for any player which has a USB port included in it, mostly Sony Walkman players come with those.

If you don't mind the cable part, you can sure go for Transcend's 610 or 630 (Nice and new). The 1 GB models will fall under your price range.

can't you buy a basic cd walkman at around 800RS.It can read CD-RW's
