VPCYB15AG Power scheme not working correctly

I have VPCYB15AG Sony Vaio Laptop more than 2 years old.
Now I notice that the Power scheme does not work correctly. It's set to go in Sleep Mode after 20 Mins of inactivity and Monitor off after 10 Mins but it just does not work. OS is Win 7 Ultimate. The LCD screen Close --> Sleep mode works fine though.
This is archived model and I have the last latest drivers installed as available from Sony.co.in. Except for this there's nothing unusual with this laptop power scheme. i.e. it can properly go in Sleep mode manually or when lid is closed, can also wake up from sleep properly without hang etc.

I think the reason is some sort of software is not letting windows to put it into sleep mode automatically .. having said that you can use batch files with 3rd party task scheduler programs to do the trick.

eventually uninstalling and then re installing drivers seems to have solved it for now.
