hi,

I hav WinXP sp2. It has been affected by Win32:Brontok-AA..
How to remove it..I removed it usind Avast but it also deltd a Windows file.

And folder options tab is also missing. k

use nod 32 AV or McAfee or Zone alarm or norton . all will successfully delete this virus

I scanned my Pc using Mcafee. It has removed all the viruses but the folder options is still missing . What should i do?

Click Start, choose Run and execute regedit.
Navigate to: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
Look for a value called NoFolderOptions on the right panel
Right click on the NoFolderOptions value and choose delete
Navigate to: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
Right click on NoFolderOptions on the right pane and choose Delete

go to line 129 left side , download and run 'Folder Options Missing' tweak

i tried regedit... it says registry editing has been disabld by your administrator.And i hav only 1 account in this window. Wat to do?

while logging in , in login window. press ctrl+alt+del twice and u will see a new login screen . now type Administrator in username and press enter. then follow anand's advice. it should work , else tell me what happened.

then download the kellys-korner tweak mentioned above and double click it/add to registry and reboot.
