virus problem

yesterday while i was chatting on a messenger i was sent a link something like coolpics saying that it is site of wallpapers...

after clicking on that link the computer got infected...by a virus
problems...
1) in internet explorer the homepage was set to that site which was not changeable...

2)who ever i chat from yahoo messenger that link would go as if i have sent and the remote computer also gets infected...

(even my fren who send it me link said actually she didnt send it)...

so what the solution
i have avg7.5 Antivirus with all updates...
is restore only a solution..
avg doesnt seem to solve the problem..

Yea thats a virus that multiplies via yahoo! I tried to open it on Linux , but damn "404 page not found" error was there!

I think u shud get some alternative to avg like kaspersky or avast then. Uninstall yahoo, scan ur pc and then install yahoo!! If the circumstances are still not ok, then do a system restore.
