Virtual box problem

I installed virtualbox in Ubuntu hardy, created a virtual machine, whenever i try to power it up it gives me the following error
VirtualBox kernel driver not installed. The vboxdrv kernel module was either not loaded or /dev/vboxdrv was not created for some reason. Please install the virtualbox-ose-modules package for your kernel, e.g. virtualbox-ose-modules-generic..
VBox status code: -1908 (VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_INSTALLED).

Hey. Do su and once root give command modprobe vboxdrv.

Then, open user manager (as root) and add your username to the group vBoxUsers.

You are done.

Have you installed the package it suggests? If not then install "virtualbox-ose-modules-generic" package first then try the above suggested group settings.

got it guys its working now, thnx

I installed XP in it...how to get the USB ports in it, all this I am doing is to get my pocket pc get detected hehe

well. you can can enable the usb drive from the settings of the virtual machine. Click on settings after selecting the VM. Then, select USB from the settings and enable USB and USB 2.0 support.
