Use WLL n LAN at d same time?

I m using a LAN connection which connects 2 desktops & 2 laptops. Now I want to set up WLL as well on d 2 laptops. I assigned diff. IP addr then LAN on laptops for using WLL. Both laptops cud detect each odr and signal strength was excellent. But I cannot transfer files. Whnevr I open "My network places", d communication takes place using LAN n not WLL.

How do I make d laptops use WLL 4 each odr at d same time being able to access desktops using LAN?

I dont knw d real difference between WAN n WLL. I mean to say I use Centrino on both laptops n want to make a conn. between dem.

WLL stands for Wireless in Local Loop. As far as I am concerned, it is a technology used for mobile phone communication over a limited range using the microwave part of the electromagnetic spectrum. A wild guess is that the TARANG cellular service offered by BSNL is a WLL one and maybe Tata Indicom WALKY is too. WLAN is Wireless LAN using using Wi-Fi, bluetooth PAN or even IR for close range. So they are thus different.And about your problem, write a few more details please.

Finally cud connect both laptops via wifi. n I m able to access LAN at d same time. But d prb remains i.e. how do I make laptops use wifi in preference ovr LAN? coz once I make wifi conn., whnevr I turn on LAN, d laptops communicate thru LAN n not wifi. Dis is a concern as whnevr electricity goes, d data is lost...

AFAIK, ethernet is given more preference over wireless in connections! Disable ur "ethernet interface" in "Network connections" and then see if it helps!

Nope! All u have to do is, put all the computers under one IP range! That is like 192.168.1.xx
