Dear Guys,

I have an old pc bought in 2005. The config is celeron 1.7 ghz, 512 Mb ram and some mercury motherboard. I don't remember the motherboard specs.

The motherboard has built in usb 1.1 (or 1.0?) support. Duw to this my new usb pen drives work extremely slow on this m/c.

Is there any way to enable the usb 2.0 support on the motherboard? Whether the firmware flashing will help?

Thanks and Regards,
Amit.

Just buy an usb ( 2.0) pci add on card. That will solve your prob.
Also firmware flashing will not help

OK. Thanks a lot for your replies.

Can you tell me the price of the same?

Also whether using this card is as good as using the usb 2.0 port or are there any other implications as far as transfer rates are concerned?

Regards,
Amit.

No issues yaar! It's same as using USB 2.0 Port. I had bought it for around 200 bucks a couple of years back!
