i have compaq evo d380mx pc [based on intel 845bg mobo],
on motherboards driver cd, it has a driver for usb 2.0, also os is xpsp2 which has usb2
but system is running with usb 1,
also there is no option found in biso to enable usb2,
so how can usb2 be enabled in this pc?

I checked the specs online, it says USB 2.0
Your windows xp sp 2 has not detected your usb 2.0 properly.
1. Open the Control Panel
2. Open System, and in that Device Manager
3. Right click on Universal Serial Bus (Controller) with the ? sign
4. select update driver, no not this time, next, next
5. And your problem will be fixed

I sorted a similar problem here *www.thinkdigit.com/forum/showthread.php?t=71224
