Hi Guys,

My brother is planing to upgrade his PC.His budget is around 10k for CPU,RAM and motherboard

So from what i saw the best value for money system would be

Processor - Athlon II X2 250 3GHz - 3k
RAM - Kingston 2x2GB DDR2 800MHz - 2x2k (As he is needs that much RAM)
Motherboard - i was not able to find anything particular. Please suggest a gud motherboard within the budget.

Please let me know the suggestion about the config.

Thanks in advance.

go with DDR3. 4Gb DDR3 wil cost 5.4k. a dual core 2.5k. & for 2.5k, he can search & get gigabyte 740G board. better than Intel G45. enough to satisfy win 7's graphics needs.

AMD Athlon II X4 620 @ 5k
Biostar TA785GE @ 4k
Transcend 2GB DDR3 1333MHz @ 2.5k

It's slightly exceeds your budget but they are worth the extra bucks.

Or if you can't strech your budget that much then go for Biostar A785GE @ 3.2k

nice one krishna. however OP told he wants 4Gb ram. not sure why. if he can go with 2Gb, your config is much better.

Ya.....I just thought what would he do with a dual core?? It's at the end now. So I suggested him a basic quad core. 2GB Ram will be enough for most of the app's if he doesn't run 64bit OS. And he;ll get ATI 4200 gfx crd integrated, So a dedicated video memory.

Well....I would prefer this and if he really needs 4GB RAM he can consider it to upgrate later rather than compromising on proccy now.

What do you think sam??

yes. better add more ram latter than purchasing a lower grade proccy & mobo. else he'll suffer in future. paid the money but not getting performance anywhere near expected.

Thanks for all your advice.Even i feel tats the better approach

Hows Biostar motherboard quality. The main reason why he is upgrading is because his previous motherboard was mediocre quality and we got pissed off with that.
