Right off the assembly line
This is Dinesh .V. I recently brought a new system with configuration stated below

Intel 3.0 GHz Dual Core
Intel Original 965RY Motherboard
1 GB DDR2 Ram (Dynet Company)
Seagate 250 GB Sata HDD
LG DVD Writer
Logitech Keyboard Mouse Set
2.1 Creative SBS Speaker.

I made use of my old cabinet which I brought a year back I-Ball company Grabit
This has a 400 Watt SMPS.
My problem and my questions

Ø Each time I switch on the spike guard the LEDs of the cabinet i.e. the light of power and the HDD light just glows for 2 sec and goes off.
àIs this a new system technology system?

THE MAJOR PROBLEM

Ø Some times when I switch on the system by pressing the power key both the LEDs of the cabinet (HDD & Power) glow continuously and I do not get the display even waiting for long and the lights keep on glowing. I try to restart the system by reset key but the system shows display. I thought this the problem of the motherboard and got it replaced but the problem remains the same.
à Where the problem lies?

Please I need help for this it will be great full for you if help me out of it.

Maybe there is something shorting or something. Also pls check if the front panel connectors are connected properly.Refer the Mobo manual for this.
Another thing to try out is to remove the board+CPU and try it outside the case, whether it works perfectly without any problems. :)

Is actually a real word..
Hmm first though it was CMOS battery, but then u said u got new Mobo. you get no beeps? cuz thought it could be ram as well... this one sounds odd, probably something simple too, and we are all thinking to hard. so u can't even enter BIOS? I would replace battery, ur CPU might be toast too... hmmm..., was browsing through forums and found this post *www.thinkdigit.com/forum/showpost.php?p=549605&postcount=7

I dont think there is anything wrong with the hardware. As for me, i think there are 2 possibilities,
1] Front panel connectors are not connected properly
2] Mobo underside is shorting with cabinet somewhere.
