You are right about the price increase. Almost all components like Processor, Motherboard, cabinet etc have been increased due to dollar value fluctuation. But the main problem is HDD, price is now more than double due to the closed facilities in Thailand because of the Thailand flood. You're lucky that you don't need 'em.

Now your current config can't be updated as it is an AM2 motherboard and does not support current AM3 socket Athlon II/Phenom II processors. So better sell of the existing processor + Motherboard + Ram.

Here is the suggestion for you:-

AMD Phenom II X4 840 @ 5K
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P (rev. 3.1) @ 2.6K
Corsair Value series 1333 MHz 4GB X 1 DDR3 Ram @ 1.1K
FSP SAGA II 500W PSU @ 2.2K
NZXT Source 201 Elite Cabinet @ 2.4K
MSI HD 6670 1GB dual Fan GDDR5 @ 5.2K
Intex 1KVA UPS @ 2K

Total 20.5K.

cilius config is good but I would suggest this changes

zebronics Bijli cabinet :: 1200 instead of NZXT Source 201 Elite Cabinet @ 2.4K

Amd Phenom x4 955 :: 5800 instead of AMD Phenom II X4 840 @ 5K (you mean athlon 640 right or phenom 840)

IMO Bijli can easily handle this .. I don't think their will be any heating problem in it.. If their is then on low budget like this it is better spend money on performance and for heating use desi methods like don't use side panels in cases..it will be all right

Actually Bijli isn't available at 1K anywhere. The price is 1.5K+ now a days.

Kiran_g4E, don't post multiple times by seeing that your post is not reflected in the thread. Until you have not posted 10 posts, each of your posts need to be approved manually by the Mods which may take some times.

For Cabinet, I don't think getting a very cheaper cabinet is a good idea. So get Zebronics Bijli around 1.5K. The UPS is okay and will serve the purpose. So now you have 3K extra that can be invested. So get Phenom II X4 955 around 6K and add another 4GB ram.

Go with Cilus' config as it is balanced. Phenom II X4 840 + Gigabyte 78LMT-S2P.

If you want to go for Phenom II 955 BE, then it is better to go for a motherboard with 125w processor support Gigabyte 880GM-USB3. This will cost 2.5k~ extra overall.

AMD Phenom II X4 955 @ 6K
Biostar A880GZ AM3+ 125W TDP Mobo @ 3.6K
Flipkart: Biostar A880GZ Motherboard: Motherboard
Corsair 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3 @ 1.1K
FSP SAGA II 500W PSU @ 2.2K
NZXT Source 201 Elite @ 2K (as per Jaskanwar)
MSI HD 6670 Dual Fan 1GB GDDR5 @ 5.2K

Total 20.1K. Happy now? Accommodated Phenom II quad core and a 125W AM3+ socket motherboard in your budget. This motherboard is my new finding. It will satisfy all your requirements. It lacks the USB 3.0 but has 4 SATA 3 6 Gbps ports, AMD 880G chipset and very good overclocking potential.

Nzxt source 210 is 2k, elite 2.4k. So why get bijli!!!

because he has low and tight budget.. Where he should spend money on performance... AFAIK Bijli costs 1.2K(w/o psu) you can easily get in local market. even if it is 1.5K still Buyer saves 500 which can make big difference in upgrading MB,GPU,CPU.. only in Low budget:neutral:

clmlbx

example in cilus first config

phenom x4 840 5K
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P (rev. 3.1) @ 2.6K
NZXT Source 201 Elite Cabinet @ 2.4K
+whole rig
total = 20.5K

instead of that

phenom x4 955 :- 5.8K
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P (rev. 3.1) @ 2.6K
zebronics bijli :: 1.5K
+whole rig
total :: 20.8K

you tell which one is better..again I say only if buyer is in low and tight budget. you too know difference between performance in that.. plus in graphic cards difference between ddr3 and ddr5 cards is around 500.. difference between Ram @ 1333mhz and @ 1600Mhz is around 500

one who are in tight budget can increase couple of hundred bucks but can not go up to increasing 800-1000.

yes, I can agree with you that bijli might not be vfm if you can get something better in few hundreds more but here we are talking on low-tight budget.:neutral:

even I always go for VFM even if it exceeds my budget but here it is different case.

^i am talking of this below.
6670 doesnt have ddr3 version afaik.
And 1600mhz ram and 1333 doesnt make that sky-ground difference.

A good cabby and psu are always preferable as they are the ones not regularly upgraded.

AMD Phenom II X4 955 @ 6K
Biostar A880GZ AM3+ 125W TDP Mobo @ 3.6K
Flipkart: Biostar A880GZ Motherboard: Motherboard
Corsair 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3 @ 1.1K
FSP SAGA II 500W PSU @ 2.2K

when I said about bijli it was way up when I noticed money can be saved from that cabby and used in for cpu..
I am not talking about this particular config,particular thread or 6670.. I am saying in general when you have low budget you should spend money on performance instead of cabinet.. about ram as in here op is building a performance rig (vfx usage) ram can make the big difference..

No compromise on PSU but in cabby it can be.

here cilus has mentioned a very good config. we need not compromise on cabby.
its benefit is understood when we OC.

about ram as in here op is building a performance rig (vfx usage) ram can make the big difference..

can you please prove it? links?

No compromise on PSU but in cabby it can be.

disagree completely!!

I have not read this anywhere I was just telling it by what I had experienced..

disagree completely!!

I have no idea why.. I my self did that..I was limited on my budget so I was looking for Bijli.. and then add to my bad luck it was not available(out of stock) so I had too choose another zebronics cabby..
