Hey guyz… I am using a P4 2 GHz , 256 MB RAM , Intel Original D850MV Mobo , Pixelview Nvidia AGP 8X GEFORCE4 MX 440 card (64 Mb) and WIN XP PROFESSIONAL . My comp was working perfectly until today I got the following msg and I am not able to boot into my system , neither in safe mode or in the last known good config or normally. I have not installed any new hardware or software as the error says and I have loaded optimal defaults from the BIOS also but still I am not able to enter windows. Plzzz HELP.

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

If this is the first time you are seeing this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow the following steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select advanced startup options, and then select safe mode.

Boot the computer off the Windows XP CD, and then press R to enter the Recovery Console when it prompts you to. Once at the RC prompt, type in:
chkdsk /r
and press Enter. Once the process is done (it will take some time), type:
exit
and then restart Windows. Hopefully, your problem should be solved. However, if it isn't, then you will need to repair/reinstall Windows XP after backing up your data. Also, make sure you have the required service packs running. Microsoft has fixed an error for this in a February 2002 Critical Update.
