I've got a 80gb hdd divided into 4 partitions of 20gb each. i've got Windows XP Professional with SP2 installed on one partition and Windows Vista Ultimate Edition installed on another. I now want to uninstall Windows Vista. how do I go about it? on inserting the DVD or booting with ih, i don't get any option of uninstallation. If i just format the partition, will that cause any prob because the comp now boots using the boot file of Vista (bcdedit.exe). if i format the partition, the file will no longer be available. this shouldn't cause any trouble.

Boot into Windows XP, now put the vista DVD inside, when the autorun starts & gives u option to install Vista, close the window

now go to Start -> run & type the command

[FONT=&quot]E:\boot\bootsect.exe /nt52 ALL /force

where E: is your dvd drive
