If there is demand for Windows on PPC (IBM's own server only architecture now which they don't license for consumers) or Cell Architecture (Sony's own CPU architecture for there PS3 Game console which they are not relesing for consumers to be used in normal desktop PC)...then Microsoft will sure release even Windows 7 for Toaster

Windows is released where there is market demand. Linux...well, anyone can come, code, compile,...run , leave.

I'd like to buy a toaster with the Cell proc., so that I can watch HD movies on it till my toast it ready!

Windows is released where there is market demand.

Porting software across architectures esp. OS is a herculean task! Even MS will need a huge team and enormous amount for time for it. Its not as easy as saying Hey I need Windows to run on this, so MS just port it to this arch.!

Linux...well, anyone can come, code, compile,...run , leave.

True, thats why Linux is scalable; coz there is no such thing as a particular "team" and all the world's time is yours.

and the kernels for windows server, desktop, ce and mobile are not the one and the same. they are differnet. Hence its not truely cross platform.

why do you try to convert every single thread about something that has a connection with linux to a flame war despite knowing that you neither have any valid points to fight and that you are not fighting in the rignt place ?

Umm...why have one big kernel? Why not multiple small kernel as & where aplicable.

Although MS is changing this with MinWin.
