Stabbing my shoe
Hey Guys, I just wanted a solution of a simple problem in the UBUNTU LIVE CD.
My graphics card (NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64/Model 64 Pro) supports resolutions up to 1024x768. So, when I boot my computer with the UBUNTU Live CD, there is a menu below for setting resolutions whose default is 1280x1024. Now, I set it to 800x600 or 1024x768, the screen always goes blank. i.e. after hitting ENTER, the file settings are set up normally but when the Desktop finally loads, my monitor LED colour changes from green to orange indicating higher resolution than possible.
So, can any one help me set up the resolution in the LIVE CD (and not INSTALL CD) and tell me what's wrong and how can it be corrected ??

Yes, it works but after I installed the UBUNTU on my hard drive (E: ) the GRUB Loader starts. After that, it says it was unable to load X(perhaps, my desktop manager).. Now, feel like in UBUNTU live CD, I need 2 change my horizontal and vertical frequency.. How do I do that?

Actually I installed ubuntu and it automatically took me th the gui.Though last time I had the problem you had.You have to edit the config file
Type this
# xf86config
-> go through its configuration and set up your resolution.
# /etc/init.d/gdm restart
-> restart GDM login manager..
