As i mentioned this incident happened recently.I had already set up my router to connect to my ISP succesfully for the past 3 monthsmany cable ISPs restrict connecting to a particular MAC address(like your desktop,laptop etc) so in that case you may have to use clone MAC/MAC spoofing option in interface setup---internet settings & enter the mac address of your PC.
Sorry for late reply.My WAN port has gone kaput so bought a new 1 anyway.run ipconfig /all command in command prompt when directly connecting your PC to ISP & when using router & post both results here.
