The default sleep button in the start menu of Windows Vista is very irritating
and people like me often end up clicking it instead of shutdown when in a hurry. Here is the way to change it to Shutdown.
Goto Control Panel.
System and Maintenance.
Power options.
Select your power option and choose "Change Plan Settings"
Click "change advanced power settings".
Maximise "power buttons and lid"
Maximise "Start menu power button"
Click on "sleep" which will bring up options and select "Shut down"
Apply and OK.
and that's it.Now the button should have changed to a red coloured Turnoff button.
