is it a recent problem or it has been happenin since begining?

if it is a recent problem then wat was it that u did just b4 u started facin the problem

how much RAM ur comp got?

if u got an AV then try disabling that and c

even b4 that do 1 thin?

1.) dont change any config in ur comp yet

2.) Clear all entries in evnt viewer - application & system in particular

3.) put ur DVD in the tray. If it hangs then let it remain in that state for 10-15 mins

4.)if unable to wok on the OS then restart the comp

5.)Go back to event viewer and see all the entries that are marke as cdrom and atapi

:) Autoread means Autoplay option which is designed 2 play optical media
automatically (the moment u pop in 1 CD it starts playin in a media player )
it is created by .inf file in the root dir....in the CD/DVD e.g Digit DVD/CD which
we use..:D

Regarding ur problem  u have 2 chec ur DVD whether its perfectly ok(i.e
critical scratches, its shape is good or not,it has cracks in the center or not etc)

If u have checed all dat then try using any other DVD which u think is perfect
or used it previously....

also try 2 chec dat DVD in a frnds PC....see wat happens....

ok my conclusion would abt ur problem:

1.Bad DVD(unreadable)
2.DVD drive lens
3.Antivirus Blocking (a virus ..)
4.DVD drivers
