Hi Digitians,

PC Configuration : PIII with 300 Mhz and Asus A7N8X Motherboard with 160 Gb Seagate harddisk on WinXP

My system was working fine, untill I've installed Tomb Raider Anniversary Game on my Machine.

As my existing 160Gb Harddisk had enough data, I've purchased 250 GB ID Harddisk yesterday and Installed it on my machine. All Partitions done well and machine starts working smoothly untill i've installed Tomb Raider Game.

As C:/ Drive in my existing harddisk got filled, I've installed TombRaider Anniversary game on my new Partitioned Harddisk (K:/Drive) with the Path (k:/Program files....). But when i started the game, it worked well for 10 minutes and then the entire system got hang, i had nothing to do but Restart my Machine. I've tried playing the game again but all in vain, System hanged again after 10 minutes.

I remember, the same thing happened to me 6 months back when I've installed NFS Carbon on my E:/Drive, then system hang even then, I've resolved the issue by Installing the game on my C:/ Drive and the game worked fine.

Why it is happening like Installing games on Drive other than C:/ Drive hangs my machine. This is irritating.... Pls Help....

Any Suggestion will be Appreciable

Its possible your system config is quite low to satisfactorily run the games... Have you looked at minimum requirements, preferred sys specs, etc?

Hi Slugger,

Thanks for the System Requirement.

Actually I've checked the System requirement of the game before buying it. And as per my knowledge, The sys req. of the TR Anniversary is very similar to the TR Legend and that version worked properly on my machine.

My System Configuration is :

OPERATING SYSTEM: Microsoft Windows XP,
CPU: Pentium 3 3.0Ghz
RAM:1GB RAM
GRAPHICS:100% DirectX 9.0c compatible 64 MB 3D Accelerated Card with Vertex Shader 2.0 and Pixel Shader 2.0
HARD DRIVE: 250 GB free disk space
Graphic Cards : GeForce 6800 LE

I think, that is sufficient.

d00d firstly u canno have a P3 and also a 3GHz procy
also if ur mobo dat u mention ealier was d correct 1 den u cannot have a Intel procy

plz give correct info if u expect a correct ans

but i got a hang of ur problem

so heres wat i will suggest

i would recommend dat u first re-install lates DX9 redistributable from MS's website

den after re-installation from Start->Run u type in dxdiag and press enter

plz post a screenshot of d first screen of d window dat opens up

der r many tabs in dat window, each having a given set of tests in it
i suggest dat u run each of those tests and c wat results it gives
if any test gives u a problematic result post it here

if all tests run asmoothly without any errors, start d game

hopefully ur game should run smoothly (with a freshly installed DX9)

if it still gives u problem den it may b bcos ur system is overheating due to d starins of d game

(but as u said NFSC ran well wen u installed it on C drive u mite wan 2 do dat and c wat happens)

also try keepin just 1 HDD attached when playin 2 c if it makes any difference or not

wow that biggest overclock in the whole world. From 300 mhz 3 ghz(may be secret the behind such huge overclock is using an amd mob to overclock an intel proc :) :) :) )
