Iam looking to buy a AMD based gaming pc and took this config form one of the forums

Biostar TA890GXE @ 6.6k
Corsair 4GB DDR3 1600MHz C9 Titanium @ 6.8k
Cooler Master Centurion 690 @ 4.4k
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 50GB @ 2.4k
LG 22x DVD @ 1.1k
BenQ 24" G2420 FULL HD LCD Monitor @ 10.3k
Corsair VX550W @ 5.8k

TOTAL =45.7K

First of all Welcome to ThinkDigit Forum :)

The Gigabyte board you are talking about is not 290GPA-UD3H its 890GPA-UD3H

You stated that you are configuring an Gaming rig. Where is Graphics Card?? Or is it for casual low-end gaming??

Well.....wait for other members to suggest best gaming config within 47k.

I recommend:
AMD Phenom II X2 555BE + MSI 785G-E53 @ 10.5k
4(2x2GB) 1333MHz Corsair DDR3 RAM @ 7k
1TB WD Black @ 5.4k
Sapphire HD5770 1GB GDDR5 @ 10k
Benq G2420HD @ 10.5k
CM Elite 334 @ 2.2k
Corsair VX450 @ 3.8k
L.G. SATA DVD-Writer @ 1.1k

It's costing 50k approx. If it gets out of your budget you can choose Benq G2020HD @ 6.3k Or even Benq G2220HD @ 7.6k Instead of 2420HD

gaming rig without the graphic card !!!
difficult
look at these changes

if u r only going to play games then u may choose
athlonII x3 435(2.9ghz) or athlonII x4 630(2.8 ghz) or phenomII x4 955be(3.2ghz)

go for 790fx or 790gx mobo(its the real deal plus 890 is good for 6 or more cores)

vx 550 costs around 4.7k (yipeeeee)

welcome dude....

so here goes your config:- (for gaming)

Athlon II X4 630 2.8GHz @ 5.1k
Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H @ 7.5k(if you wanna go for 890gx) or Biostar TA785G3 HD @ 4.3k
Transcend 2*2GB DDR3 1333MHz C9 @ 5.4k
Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB @ 4k or Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB @ 4.2k
nzxt gamma @ 2.2k or Cooler Master Elite 342 @ 2.2k
Corsair VX450W @ 3.8k
benq e2220hd lcd @ 8.5k
MSI HD5770 HAWX 1GB GDDR5 @ 10.2k

total:- 43.7k if you go with biostar, else 47k....

if you are really into gaming then you can't play without a discreet gpu.... 5770 will play all your titles.... if you just casually game, then go with gigabyte and drop the gpu.... athlon 2*4 630 is the best vfm quad core proccy you can get and would suffice all your needs.... if you are into overclocking or heavy decoding stuff, then only go for phenom....

good config. if he goes with bio & 500Gb HDD, he can get HD5850. VX450W will handle it.

teh tech saviour!
What do you mean by voltage supplying range

Or you mean to ask the amps on the 12v rail
they are 30A and 33A respectively

yup.... was asking that only.... but would corsair vx 450w be able to handle my system + an hd 5850????

saurabh_1e

teh tech saviour!
Corsair vx 450w can handle 5770 and your rig but i don't know about the 5850.
And by the you already bought cm extreme power 500watts few days back .
and be careful cm extreme power has the potential to burn down your rig.

rahul.007

bORn To RIse....
using extreme power rite now:lol: cauz haven't plugged any gpu.... whenever will buy a gpu would surely get corsair.... what about your pc????

VX450W will handle HD5850 but if u thinking of HD5850, better think VX550W. your other family members(in this case, X4 955 + full ATX 790GX) won't b happy

I am suggesting a config for you. Almost same like others, except some minor modification

Processor: AMD Phenom II 955 @ 7.6k
Mobo: ECS A785GM-M @ 4.6k
Ram: 2 GB Transcend 1333 MHz DDR3 @ 2.6k
Hdd: Seagate 500 GB SATA @ 2.3k
PSU: Zebronics Platinum 700W @ 3.3k
Cabinet: Zebronics Bijli @ 1.5K
Display: BenQ 22" G2220 FULL HD LCD Monitor @ 7.5k
GPU: PowerColour HD5850 1GB GDDR5 V2 @ 16k
Keyboard and Mouse: At your Choice @ 0.7k
Optical Drive: LG 22X @ 1.2k

Total is 47.3k

Reason: I have concentrated more on CPU and gfx card. If you are not going to update our system frequently, you need to concentrate on these two peripherals.
I have suggested a 22" display instead of a 24". Believe me, it will be ok for you and best value for money at your budget.
Processor: I have suggested Phenom II series quad core over Athlon II series because of the extra 6 MB L3 cache present in Phenom II. It will always help u.
PSU: The most sensitive one. I have suggested a Zebronics one, which most forum member think as a crap. But I have suggested it from my personal experience. I have almost the same configuration as mentioned over and it is working without any problem. Both my processor and mobo is overclocked and I have even tried it with my friend's GTX 285 on it for 1 month. No problem till now. I think Zebby 700W will be ok to handle ur config.

for PSU Zebronics Pro series better than Platinum. Platinum is crap. Pro much much better. still for such a heavy system a good PSU always makes a difference. i'll say Gigabyte 550W.

Basically by putting all your suggestions together we get something like this

Athlon II X4 630 2.8GHz @ 5.1k
Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H @ 7.5k
Transcend 2*2GB DDR3 1333MHz C9 @ 5.4k
Corsair VX450W @ 3.8k

Total 1=21,800

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB @ 4.2k
Cooler Master 690 @ 4.5k
benq g2420 full HD lcd @10.3
LG 22x DVD@1.1k

total 2= Rs21,100

1+2 = 42,900

leaving about 7k as of now for the gfx card which i intend to buy after nvidia brings out its Dx11 cards(I will be following digit closely for that)

Should i get the 550w instead of the 450w as I do not know what gfx i will be getting
But it is not a very high end card going to be more than 10k or so

I am going for the G2420 despite what some have said in the forums because my mom saw it the other day and wants it badly but if I am able to convince her I might go for a 22" lcd but as of now just putting it in just to see how much it comes out to be.

As you can see this can accomadate a phenom x4 965 B.E which is almost 4 k more which means my gfx budget takes a hit since i am going to go 6 cores in about 2 years I think the athalon x4 should suffice or should i go for the AMD Phenom II 955 @ 7.6k

I want to play games like crysis and batman AA not necessarily super high res but decent res also I do intend to play crysis 2 when it comes out who knows what havoc it is going to make

last but not the least i would like to thank the members at digit and the guys at digit forums for all the info you have provided it is really helpful you guys just helped 4 of us me and my friends of mine all with the same budget thank you so much

I will be most probably getting my rig this sat and will definately post if i have any queries and will definately post after i get my pc thank you so much .

DIGIT ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:-o:-o:-o:-o:-o:-o:-o:-o
