This may sound kind of silly for some but it is a very important query for me.
I just purchased a Samsung 940bW. The dealer there adviced me that I should switch off the LCD manually by pressing the button on the monitor when shuttig down any OS rather that letting the LCD go to sleep. He said that this increases the monitor life because keeping an LCD on for hours together diminishes the floracent light in the LCD monitor thus decreasing its life. Now is this correct or is it a myth. When asked about the CRT monitors he said CRT monitors are rugged and it makes no diffrence but LCD monitors are fragile.
