Need a sleek, powerful ultrabook. Preferably with a 256GB SSD. Are any with Ivy Bridge out there yet ?

1) What is your budget? (INR or USD)
~ 50k

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?

Thin and Light; 12" - 14" screen

3) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
I trust you guys

4) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?
media consumption, web browsing,

5) What screen resolution(s) & type (glossy/matte) would you prefer?
flexible but 1080p preferable. Are there any downsides to a matte screen ?

6) Anything else you would like to say? (eg: local purchase, ASS,matte/glossy finish)
Please provide details about where to buy it from Mumbai. Also suggest an external CD Drive.

An ultrabook with IVB processors and 256GB HDD will cost you above 1lac.

@OP - 50k wont get you a 1080p screen in either a laptop or ultrabook.

Your options are
1. HP Envy 4 - 14" (51k)
2. Sony Vaio T13(46k) & T11 (48k) - 13" & 11"
3. Samsung NP530(51k) - 14"

Only the Sony Vaio are proper ultrabooks. (with Hybrid SSDs)

Envy 4 & NP530 are super-sleek laptops.

All these models have 1366x768 resolution.

in a budget of 50k you are looking for a ultrabook with a 256GB SSD, well that sounds weird as 256GB HDD alone costs 20k.
Anyways the best option in your budget is Sony VAIO S Series SVS13112EN

LOL 256GB SSD and Full HD ? :D

Buddy there does exist such a laptop but it is not 50k. Vaio SVZ13115. 13.1 inch Full HD, IVB i7 Quad, 256GB Quad SSD Raid 0. Price 1.8 lacs ;)

Anyway for you I would suggest take a look at Lenovo U310 as well.
