Though I'm a big phone of Sony phones, but the last purchased Xperia Neo comes out disappointing. Now I'm looking for a good phone should be at least 1 gig of RAM and dual core processor, will buy in july. Hope prices would drop of current phones.

Flipkart too seems to be selling I9100G, so I wonder how buytheprice is selling I9100. And no,the I9100G is not discontinued as you were told by Buytheprice.

I'd suggest buying from a physical store so you can at least be sure what model you are getting. And anyway the price will be lower as well.

Flipkart is selling Samsung galaxy s2 I9100 Not the I9100G..here is the link
Samsung Galaxy S 2 I9100: Price in India, Reviews, Specification: Flipkart.com
i check the specs ...its mali-400

yes..it is better to buy from local stores after checking the specs..but at my place the price will be bit higher than buying online ...

Hi there!
Galaxy S2 is undoubtedly a more superior phone than HTC Sensation.
These days I9100 model is back and the I9100G model is not available from online shops like flipkart, homeshop, etc. But if you still have doubts, buy locally.
So how to distinguish between I9100 and I9100G?

Option 1: Read the fine print on the serial no. sticker. The exact model no. is also written there.

Option 2: Physical comparison of the packaging. The original I9100 comes in a small black box with just the words Galaxy SII written on it with silver metal-like print.
The I9100G on the other hand comes in a larger brown color-based box with the phone's picture and a few features printed on it.

Another suggestion would be to get the Galaxy Nexus from here . You gotta love he bigger HD Super AMOLED screen with the pure google ICS experience.

Now I know that SII has better hardware than the Nexus apart from the screen but one thing that no one can deny is that the screen itself is the biggest factor in a touch-screen phone and personally having a Super AMOLED HD screen and having compared it with my cousin's SII's Super AMOLED Plus, I can definitely say that HD does make a difference. So choose wisely and happy purchase!! :)

Keep in mind that Galaxy nexus is not officially available in India, and will never be. It is some imported product, so that means you will get warranty issue. LINK

Not only the battery but also the poor contrast of screen just 775:1 very poor. Black will appears dark grey like any TFT screen.

Actual owners are reporting pretty good battery life :). So I'd take the GSMarena test with a pinch of salt. Also the new Sony devices have crap battery life for the first 10 days or so, so yes the GSMarena battery life test is accurate for the first few days. But later battery life improves considerably.

Also with regards to the screen, the black levels are high but then so is the brightness. Contrast has to do with both the white as well as black levels. When the Xperia P has a 1050 cd/2 white level its simply impossible to expect a black level of below 1. Just for comparison sake, the Dell XPS 15 which has an excellent 1080p B+RG screen has a black level of 0.5 for white level 300 cd/m2. And most other high end laptop screens have similar figures.

An average laptop screen has a black level of 1.3 cd/m2 for whites 200 cd/m2 bright. So Xperia P has more than 5 times the contrast of a normal Laptop screen. And if you compare its black levels converted to same brightness levels as other smartphones ~300 cd/m2 then its black levels and contrast is no worse than any other high end device.

1.36 cd/m2 black level for 1050 cd/m2 whites is outstanding !!!.

But will you use 1050cd/m2 100% brightness ? No right ?

So under normal use black level will be quite low 0.25-0.3 cd/m2 at 200-300cd/m2 whites.

Follow this thread here for Xperia P owner reviews and see what battery life they are getting ;)

Why are you comparing a 15.6" laptop screen with a 4" smartphone ?
gsmarena tests are based on real life by experts thats why it looks weeks to conclude.
The best screen I ever saw is S-LCD2 totally awesome, black appears totally black, viewing angles are as good as SAMOLED and main thing is colours don't appear saturate much like in SAMOLED.

Well I'd say go look at the Xperia P screen yourself before concluding that the screen isn't good :) Would you rather believe GSMArena or your own eyes ?

And SCL2 does not have perfect blacks according to GSMArena - 0.39 cd/m2 black level which is far off from being true black, but you felt the blacks looked black right ? So you see the numbers don't always mean everything. That's the difference between objective testing and subjective testing. :)

The Galaxy S3 has an AMOLED panel so it has perfect blacks 0.0001 cd/m2 but does it have the best screen ? Watch the video and find out. ;)

Sony vs Samsung vs HTC, Bravia vs AMOLED vs Super LCD 2, display comparison (all on 100% brightness) - YouTube

Galaxy S3 is not perfect because of over saturation of colours in SAMOLED.

Sony Bravia display is only good for one person view, not good for other person who is watching and SLCD-2 is overall better than all.

95% of the time only one person uses the phone ;) so only 5% of the time SLCD2 is better as per your theory
I'm curious to know how many hours in a day do you share your phone display with another person ? :D

EDIT: Let me also create a poll question about this. Will post a link once I'm done.

According to you whoever share anything with his phone screen much is odd? It is not the point that how many minutes you share with someone, its an overall impression which can be faced in practical life.
So, why smartphones are coming with a good viewing angle, why phone company wants to put overall good quality screen? Are all gsmarena, cnet editors are useless? Why they use pentile and non-pentile display, no one see his phone so closely that he can identify that, these little things makes the difference.
The fact is sony only uses same old TFT screen in their phone by adding some LED backlits in it or by some improvement in old technology of TFT, NXT series phones are not even with gorilla glass like other competitors. Phones are scratch-resistant not scratch proof. Many of new sony phones having yellow tint issue. Check it
My Xperia X10 was having 65k TFT screen (2 years ago no touchphone comes with 65k), only good factor was 4.3" big screen and high pixel density at that time, now it looks disgusting.
