hi, my signature shows my current config, i want to upgrade it for gaming as latest games like battlefield3 and the run demands heavy processors,
As i play bf3 on my rig at a resolution of 1600*900, i find the processor to be utilized 100% which results in crashing of the game....
so i have planned to buy a 2gb ram which will made it 4gb ddr2 800mhz, and a processor on same motherboard which supports upto core2quad LGA775 series,
my budget is 6k max for the processor (i don't know if any core 2 quad comes under 6k or not, please do tell)
suggest me the most powerful and "motherboard compatible" quad core processor in my budget,
also give me links if available online, mainly on flipkart and letsbuy.
otherwise tell me where they are available in nehru place, delhi.

No core2Quad processors are available on that price range; infact finding them is a real issue. You can get Q8300/Q8200 around 7K-8K.

are they better than my current processor, should i go for one of those? isn't anything better in core2duo series available than my current one?

i may extend my budget to this q8300/8200 if it can afford heavy games like bf3 at ultra settings at 1600*900,
Please advise..

Yes they are obviously better than your current processor. Since LGA775 is outdated, you can go for this choice:

AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE @ 6k
Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H @ 4.4k

buying a core 2 quad processor is not recomended in this time frame
, still if you find one buy
or save some more & buy a better processor & mobo combo

Not worth getting them at all. Seriously.

BF3 doesn't use more than 2 cores if Tomshardware is to be believed.

Bulldozer has a resource sharing penalty when two threads are run from one module. This can be resolved by a patch from Microsoft to improve Windows' scheduling and run two threads in two modules. That's why you see a 10% loss from going to 4 cores to 2 cores. Phenom II is fine.

Battlefield 3 is a special new game which is utilizing only 2 cores. Other new games are well utilizing 4 cores.
