1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Multi-tasking: Heavy Browsing (50 Tabs) & Gaming: BF3, Crysis 2, GTA IV & Dirt 3.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: Increased to 40K :D
3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: I don't think I'll ever need to overclock, I'll better upgrade. :p

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7 Optimized + Debian

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: Already have a 7200.12 320GB HDD (It has corrupted & I didn't remember how much warranty is left) I'll check about it soon. For now suggest me without hdd.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Yes, Decided on BenQ G2222HDL

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: DVD Writer, Keyboard, Mouse

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:This or next week for sure.

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans:Assembler

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:I'll buy from Mumbai, Lamington Road. I don't think I'll need to buy something from online :p

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:

1. The config should be futureproof as I will not upgrade anytime soon as I'm not a gamer.
2. G2222HDL Don't have inbuilt speakers so please suggest good speakers below 2K
3. I've a microsoft wireless laser mouse, it doesn't track well on my wood surface so will I require a mousepad.
4. I don't have much money left now :( Saving for a new mobile too. :)

Some Queries that I have:

1. Is for my requirments AMD APU Enough For My Needs? I mean the cpu power
2. What if I don't upgrade monitor now? I've 17inch 720P monitor
3. What will be the best card for my requirments? I'm not a heavy gamer. I don't want to max out, Just a card that can play games at good settings in 1080p
4. I want to go for a intel rig but my budget is not fitting it well. Is there a possibility for i5 based config?

Why are you suggesting apu, when you have already included graphic card in the config?

He has already decided on the monitor. Also I think an Intel based system would be better than the Llano based system as far as "future-proofing" goes. And HD7770 is cheaper than the card you suggested and perform better.

@MyGeekTips, go for Vicky's config with 2 changes: HD6850 in place of HD7770 and exclude monitor. no way can you get a highend gaming machine within 30k.

I'll convince my dad for increasing the budget. Possibly 40K.

At 40k, get Seasonic SII 520W or Corsair GS600. Rest as suggested by vicky & sam. If gaming is important, you can consider i3 2100 & HD6870 combo.

BTW, I don't know much about the mobo, hope it is good.

Thank you for the suggestion. BTW, I'll not take a H61 Mobo as I've planned to insert a ssd later on. I think DH67Cl is a nice, I've DH67BL in my father's office rig it is a nice mobo.

Will be there any 7000 Series card in 9K or 10?

Nice config. :) My father is saying not to upgrade the monitor, so I can fit a better config in 40K.

Why did you given the smc link? I asked will there be 7790 or 7830 that beat 6850 in 9-10K? Sorry for my sentence formation.

Oh I see. So you were talking about the cards that are yet to be released in India? I'll leave that to the experts mate.

should be. there is a huge performance gap between HD7770 & HD7850. so i am expecting HD7790 but that won't appear till Nvidia outs their midrange GPU. AMD keeping that one as backup solution. But, there can be HD7850 with 1Gb ram at 10k which will easily beat HD6870 but this too won't appear soon.

all these custom cards takes at least several months to appear. And for now AMD will just play their normal card game. So your best choice is to either grab HD6850 OC or any HD7770 that is priced at 7k. at 8k, HD7770 makes absolutely no sense as it shamelessly looses to HD6850 in all tests.

I think I should grab the 6850 before it runs out of stock or should I add a card later? Maybe I can get a kepler card that outclass 6870 in 9K in 1-2 months.

either buy now else postpone it for another 4-5month. Kepler mayn't outperform the midrange (below 12k) AMD GPUs though in the upper section, Kepler will surely dominate everything.

I know the potential of 6850 but people always look for newer & better stuff. ;)

Look mate while suggesting you the 7770, i was well aware of msi 6850/oc pe priced @ 8.6k in smc.

But i still suggested you 7770. The reason is, if you check the reviews of 7770 properly, you see it loses to 6850 only in dx9 games. In dx11 titles, it performs same and sometimes even better. Check dx11 crysis 2 and bf3 benchmarks.

Apart from metro ( its an unoptimized title) 7770 performs same or better than a 6850, consumes even less power and runs cool. I think you will get better performance from it in future titles than a 6850. Do some research on this aspect mate.

7770 makes absolute sense imo even if its closely priced to a 6850. Expect prices to drop though once rival cards (read kepler) start to surface.

I don't care about future titles, I'll play lots of old titles first. I know 7770 have nice overclocking potential & cooling but 6850 is also cool card & can be overclocked like hell. Maybe AMD will release a driver update that may increased it performance to 6850 but till then 6850 is a better deal imo.
