Suggest an Android phone below 24K (buying next month)

Right off the assembly line
I need an Android phone within a budget of 24,000.

Previously I was on Samsung Galaxy S and I found it to be lagging. I had it for 6 months, and I did nothing but lag fixing. The best performance (lag free) came when I installed Darkys but that too compared to even an iPhone 3GS lags a lot.

Anyhow, this time around I think its going to be different with Dual Cores coming out.

Requirements:
1. Lag Free performance
2. Atleast 4" screen
3. Android 2.2+
4. No qwerty, Only touchscreen

Thanks

better decide next month only. We should see a price drop on Arc, D:S and I:S, thanks to the dual core monsters.

Look at *www.techenclave.com/hot-deals-and-discussions/lg-optimux-2x-rs22200-192607.html , a member is offering LG Optimus 2X for 22.2k. :)

Or if you are not comfortable with that then if you can stretch your budget a little Optimus 2x is @ 25.9k *www.letsbuy.com/lg-optimus-p990-p-16928

D:S and I:S ? I didn't get that

What price difference could a Galaxy S II see in a month period ?
(Considering its retailing at 28K in some of the online stores)

Desire:S, Incredible:S

I think SGS-II will stay at around 28k for the next few months.

if you want a dual core phone, check the link that krishnandu has referred. LG O:2X is the cheapest dual core droid you can get right now.

galexy II .. don't think there will be much reduction .. but if you can extend your budget this will be best phone to get ..

i feel there will be reduction in price of X2 ... once SGS II start selling full fledge .. and we can see the same effect in other handset 1ghz handset also ...

May be around 1 k (Don't expect a drastic drop.).... D:S = Desire S and I:S = Incredible S both from HTC (Correct me if i am wrong)

Samsung Galaxy S2 @ 29-30k will render LG Optimus 2X useless. O2X got slower processor, slower GPU, half the amount of ram, Froyo (ready lots of bug).

O2X only makes sense @ 25k.

To be frank, I wouldn't write off O:2X yet, mainly due to the Tegra 2 chipset. The chipset itself may not be 'the one' but the Tegra Zone definitely makes it a worthy device. few weeks/months from now, Sony's playstation for android and nvidia's tegra zone will be two major gaming platforms among droids. And the advantage of having such gaming platform is that the games will be fine tuned and optimized for the respective devices.

The only concern with O2X right now is the buggy firmware but I think 3rd party ROMs are already out.

I think there will be a price drop of max 1K in Incredible S.
But yes for sure the price of SE Arc will be down by atleast 1k or 2k more so then it will come in ur budget.
SGSII will stay at 28k atleast for 2-3 months
I wont suggest you to go for O2X,it has many flaws.

Android is a necessity while Performance is the most important criteria for me. (Even more than the price I quoted as my budget)

I got Galaxy S a year ago because it was a beast in hardware specs those times but still it lagged and updating to Froyo didn't make any speed improvements as such (I am saying in the terms of Lagginess)

So Android is well now a version higher and the SGSII is now almost doubled up in specs (which is like a beast in hardware specs of current time just as SGS was earlier) and I could wait and save a bit more, if Galaxy SII is the worth 'the shot'

I have seen SGS-II and let me tell you that its super fast in terms of performance and as you know its brilliant screen has no match....even HTC Sensation being a dual core phone is way back in performance

@OP : I am using SGS and until version 2.2 there was a lag. however that issue was resolved with 2.2.1 update ( which was not released in India) and now latest version is 2.3.3 which is totally lag free and smooth like butter.

Drawback of SGS II is crap audio quality. Even SuperCurio from XDA confirmed that its hardware fault and cant be resolved with drivers trick (VoooDooo sound)

Instead wait for Nexus 3.
