1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')

Ans:Net Browsing and some weekend movies [dvd]


NO WONT BE Gaming

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans:Cheapest -7k or less

Ans:No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans:XP or win7

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans:Already have 250GB (dont need)

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: No already have LCD monitor

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?

You might be able to find DDR3 RAM cheaper at a local shop than flipkart.

suggested intel processor is much better and has good integrated graphics. dont go for sempron in anyways

^^ For web browsing and DVD movies the Sempron will suffice imo, although as you pointed out the Intel is better.

Total: 8.5K. Do not opt for single core processors like Sempron even for the basic tasks. Today's most of the latest browsers like Firefox, Chrome are not very light in system and optinized to operate better in multi-core environment. Same goes for the latest version of Microsoft Office products.

the performance improvement of intel pentium over single core sempron is much greater that going with sempron is not justified as pentium cpu can be easily fit in his budget(a little extra) but worth every penny IMO.
