Hi,
Last night when i switched on my PC i got the error message as: "COULD NOT LOAD THE CURRENT USER PROFILE" "WINDOWS WILL NOW CREATE A TEMP PROFILE" now when the desktop appeared all the files and icons on my earlier desktop were missing as well as the files in My Documents. I tried to find my a/c (administrator) under Documents & settings but it wasn't there as well. I 've no idea what to do now and how recover the lost data. The data lying in My docs is very important and please suggest me how to recover that. How could windows delete my administrator a/c.
Anybody please help!!!

Most likely you got a corrupt profile and you might have to backup all your documents and favourites etc. Browse to the My Documents folder and first check if the documents are there . Copy them and put it in a temp folder and then recreate a new profile or create a new user and backup the items to your new My Documents folder.

The path is usually C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents (or substitute according to how your system is setup. )

The a/c as well as all the related files are missing...It is only showing Temp & Default User under the Documents & Settings menu tree....though administrator is still showing up there but when i click it says System can not find the path specified....So there is no option of sving my dcouments files....

Did you try booting in safe-mode!! You can try it once and check by logging into the administrator account if My Documents is there!!
