i hav amd1800+ on a gigabyte motherboard....the qustion is can i replace or remove a hard disc when the sys is on standby...cos in that mode there is no power running to the hard disc and all the system fans are also off...so is it safe to do it...


the config is:amd 1800+ gigabyte motherboard...512mb ram and 128mb GeforceFx....

yeah u can replace it

but hey jus make sure it not too hot !!!

but i wonder how its gonna come out of standby (maybe it will throw up an error and u need need manually turn the power off)

worth a question !!!

When you go to standby mode the system enters a power saving mode power to your monitor and harddisk is turned off. So any data on your RAM won't be flushed. It's therefore quite possible that you loose data.
