Sound Problem in Fedora 8???

I have installed fedora 8 on ma HP pavilion 6502au laptop... The sound drivers are installed(As provided by the distro).... The sound output form the laptop speakers are ok... But when i connect headphone or speaker to the line out the sound still keeps coming from the laptop speakers... Can anyone help me resolve the problem....:confused:

"Line Out"??:confused" or the headphone one?? The one which shows headphone on it?
Neways try the various "detect" options in sound control.

Yeah, why are you connecting to line out? Shouldn't it be headphone jack or speaker out?
OR

If you do mean speaker out as line out, check for anything muted in the sound settings.

Hey .... I get the sound from the headphone(speaker) when i connect it to ma laptop's headphone jack...but after the headphone jack is connected the sound still comes from the laptop speakers.... Help me out....

In Gnome Desktop,right click select open volume control>edit>Preferences>enable the available options>try mute/unmute sources.
