Audacity is open source and a all round good sound editing software, goldwave is old but still has a better interface than audacity

Audacity is what I use. I am not a high end sound editor, but it works with almost all skill levels.

Adobe Sound Booth, Adobe Audition, Sony Sound Forge are professional sound editing softwares. Which contains lots of great sound editing features. You can try the software using cracked version. If you like it, I recommend to purchase it.
