sound drivers installed but no sound from soundmax

1 of my friend was suffering frm brontok virus and many others trojans,spyware.because of that his pc got slow down we tried so many antivirus softwares but his problem was not solved.so we decided to reinstall windows xp sp 2.when we finished the installation of sounmax drivers and restarted pc we found that soundmax drivers were not installed correctly.the icon of sound max in taskbar shows 1 red round which was the sign of its not working fine.me and my friend using the same motherboard so i gave him my driver cd to intall the drivrs but it too not worked.

so give me solution how can i install the drivers correctly.



PC cofigration is :
AMD ATHLON 64 x 2 4200
ASUS M2N-MX
1 GB DDR 2 667 Mhz
320 GB WESTERN DIGITAL HDD
SONY DRU 170 AW DVD writer

simple, remove the drivers from ur system and reinstall it again..

i have removed it three time and reinstalled it three time but no result

reinstalled the os and then installed the driver .

Try to install latest version..One of my friends also had a same problem with sp3 beta..

jus check if thrs ne hardware issue...wit ur sound card or check ur motherboard jacks....might need a replacement of some chips
