But some games work for online play with PS+ subscription. Such as FortNight.
Did you mean to say without ps+?
It's a free game and anyone with a pc can play it for free.
Problem is paid games that need you to pay extra to play online and then pay more to get dlc.
You get free games from ps+ but you can only keep and play them till your subscription is active. The cheapest one is 330/m when you pay for annual. Monthly plan is ₹500.

Unless we make money by playing games, there is no point in these subscription based services for games.

IMO PS5 does not make sense anymore. You buy ps for its exclusives. Since most games now have a pc release, ps5 is not cheap for an average Indian. If I have to pay to play online and then also pay for the internet connection, I'm not buying it.
Under 40k for a PS5 still makes sense for casuals IMO as Nvidia has completely given up on budget GPUs & AMD as well, kind of (AMD still makes money from consoles, so not much of a loss for them). A decent PC with say 3060 12GB will cost 60k+ (but 3060 is inferior to PS5 GPU slightly). Also most people are not tech savvy enough to own a custom PC. Also consoles are much more easier to use for casuals.

If you can afford a good PC & are tech savvy enough, definitely PC is better in the long run.

Where would you get ps5 under 40k? Maybe used console. If you're taking about used console and game discs for single player games then yes, it will serve the purpose of budget gaming. But you won't get this option in all parts of India.
And if you're building a pc in India, the average joe is only going to spend on hardware.
I still would love to buy a ps5 but only for hacking/jailbreaking and adding it to my existing collection of playstation consoles in my closet.

New disc version of PS5 was under 40k or at 40k multiple times last year & early this year on mainly Flipkart.

Now that PS5 is OOS, I think PS5 slim digital was under 40k & disc one at 42k at times. Upcoming sales will again have these prices, most likely.

I was able to find this from desidime:
