Hi,
You say you like both programming and electronics.. But you need to conc on one of them and prepare hard, if you are going for offcampus...Offcampus interviews are generally a tougher nut to crack (not trying to scare you) and you need to be an expert in one of these areas..
During the 4 years of engg, you would have had some IT papers (C, C++, Java etc).. Did you do well in them and were you interested in hard core
programming?? If yes, then you can take a look at IT...Also, you should think on why you got rejected in TCS interview and improve yourself in those areas..
In case you found yourself drawn towards hardcore engineering papers and did well in that area, then you should seriously look for a career in the same.. In the
long run a job in core field might be more rewarding and fulfilling (ofcourse you need to excel in it).. Most of the guys from core background become dis-satisfied with the programming work and look for Mba or something else to get out of it in a couple of years..
And regarding good salary, good growth and balance of life and work...it will come in whichever job you do, provided you put your heart and soul in it..
Decide what you want to do first and the rest will follow.. Atb..
P.S - You can also look at other options like Mtech, Mba, Govt jobs etc..Campus placement isnt the end..
I am a Electronics and Engineering 4th year student.TCS is the only company that come for campus recruitment and i was rejected in the Interview round.
Now it seems that off campus placement is the only opportunity for me. I dont know where to concentrate. Should i go for EIE core companies or software companies??? I personally have no preference at all (i love both programming as well as electronics stuffs). Now what i want is a good salary, good growth and a balance between life and work.....
Also guys please advice
