hi everybody i'm going to give a very short tutorial on social engineering
social engineering is an art where an attacker tries to lure out information out of a victim by using name of a firm,i'll explain via an example:-
suppose i'm an atacker i call a person and tell him that i am calling from yahoo india and our database has crashed(most commonly used)so i need your password in order to recover your acount,many a times victims give their apssword.
success rate of this attack depends on the smartness,alertness of an attacker.
he must have gathered background info.
so now to the point "HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF"
only one solution -
never ever give your account details to anyone whether it be administrator of yahoo or manager of citibank
many ppl know it but still give it
trust me for this I have tried it myself and it did work
