I highly doubt ASUS will make a mediatek version, some websites are reporting that but there has been no solid proof of it..
Basically there are a bunch of phones having the same Zenphone 2 name:
1) 720p with 1.8 GHZ Quad core + 2 GB RAM
2) 1080p with 1.8 ghz quad core + 2 GB RAM
3) 1080p with 1.8 ghz quad core + 4 GB RAM
and lastly the Zenphone zoom..
There has been NO SIGHTs of a mediatek version...
The first one is a direct replacement of the Zenphone 5, probably will cost 9.5-10k, the second one is a moto G contender, if priced under 14k, it could be truly truly vfm
Does anyone have any ideas when ASUS will launch?

The Asus Zenfone 2 comes in 32 and 64 GB RAM, the last one introduced just recently. Users can get the handset in 32 GB with 4 GB RAM for TWD 8,990. Buyers can also opt for the same storage capacity but with 2 GB RAM. This will lower down the price to TWD 6,990. As for those who would need more space, the 64 GB flavor paired with 4 GB of RAM will do the trick. This variant is priced at TWD 9,990, and it will be available in Taiwan along with the 32 GB/ 4 GB RAM model.

Hope Zenfone 2 isnt Mediatek!! that would be really shitty on Asus's part
they otherwise have a decent line up so far
Mediatek would ruin their progress

I'd suggest Yureka over the others

1) Cyanogen interface is clean uncluttered and simple, better than MIUI imho.

2) Yureka camera is good, better than Redmi and the others mentioned, again, imho.

3) Battery is really great, I get through 2 days of moderate use on a full charge.

4) Display of Yureka also seemed better to me than the Redmi Note and Asus Zenfone 5, although the colours are a bit oversaturated ( Even with the Color enhancement option turned off )

My opinions may seem biased because I own the Yureka but my colleagues who sit right beside me have the Zenfone 5 Redmi and the A6000, I have gone through all of them and this is an honest inferencel.

She insited on stricter budget.
Xiaomi Mi Redmi 4 will be a bit larger and heavier for her,so she was unwilling to go for it.
Yu Yureka,she told to use for me,not her.
She wanted a Windows based OS phone.

This is because the phone sports a non-removable battery:evil::x
She understood the factor and insisted for waiting a couple of months or so.

For windows L935 is better any day. Plus 640 series is about to come out hold your purchase a bit more.

Wait for Lumia 640 and 640XL
otherwise 535 is also great for immediate purchase
Please get Lumia only,it has loads of exclusive apps etc which are very useful and its build quality,ASS etc is still unmatched by any other brand
also updates will be a breeze on Lumia

yeah 640 is rumoured to be 10k or lower(fingers crossed)
wont cross 13k for sure
Otherwise 535 is a very capable handset and is for 9k
I expect a price drop though since 640 and 640 XL will come in 1-2 weeks
I suggest waiting and seeing what happens when 640 and 640 XL come
One thing is certain,any of these phones will suit the needs and will get updates etc well and wont lag

-coming from someone whose 2 year old Lumia 720 is still running great with "outdated" hardware and just gets better and more features with each update :)

You see if you can't get the 640 in that 10k bracket just buy 535. Just do not look at it's performance but look at the experience.
