INTEL GAMING PC
Core i5 2500k @ 11.3K
Gigabyte GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 @ 9.5k
Corsair 2*2=4GB XMS3 DDR3 1600MHz C9 @ 3k
Sapphire HD 6950 2GB GDDR5 @ 16k
Corsair GS 600W @ 4.8k
CoolerMaster CM690 @ 4.2k
Seagate 1TB @ 2.7k
LG 22x DVD RW @ 1k

How's this? Has all your requirements.

- A Z68 board, a 2500k (easy 4GHz OC, since you mentioned you want to OC), the mighty HD6950 card (reference may unlock to HD6970), plus, the Z68 supports Intel's quick sync. Say hello to ULTRA FAST video conversion.

- Although what I can say is your monitor will be hindering your experience greatly. It is recommended to buy a new FULL HD monitor to make most out of your system.

- Another recommendation to make most our of your rig is Windows 7 x64..

- Future proof? Hell Yea, the CPU wont run out for a minimum 3 years(Depending on your hunger for more), plus Ivy Bridge will be compatible (but sadly 4 cores only), the GPU is a monster. 2-3 years gaming? Sure do!

My HD5850 1.5 years old still serves so well, was the best purchase at that time.

Here is my suggestion for you:

Intel Core i5 2500K @ 10.8K
Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 @ 11.5K
G.Skill Ripjaws X F3-12800CL9D-4GBX (single 4 GB 1600 MHz stick) @ 2.6K
Sapphire HD 6870 @ 11.2K
Seagate 1 7200.12 TB HD @ 2.7K
LG 22X SATA DVD Writer @ 0.8K
Corsair TX 650W V2 @ 5.2K
Cooler MAster 690 II Advanced @ 5K
RANTOPAD H1 Ares Gaming Mouse Pad @ 0.3K

Total 50.1K

For gaming, there is no match for this rig, especially in 1440X900 resolution. Throw anything you want at the highest setting. For rendering, Editing, 2500K + Quicksync+ Lucid Logic Virtue....a superb combination.

Thank you for the suggestions :) I have to check the prices here..really liked that i5 2500k..probably i might go with that. I am also thinking about a Phenom II X6 processor...is that any good compared to i5 2500k or an i7 2600? and about my monitor..i might upgrade that later. My monitor is about 6 months old..so im not looking to buy a new one now.

Maximum Craze
phenom x6 is not as good as sandy bridge, so better go with i5 2500K which is purely dedicated for unbeatable gaming experience & day to day task.

i5-2400 is better than Phenom II x6 1100T in overall performance. If you want AMD rig better wait for BD.

^^ exactly, and that's why I suggest it. And the HD6950 is an amazing card, just look at it's power consumption, so close to HD6870.

Hi guys,
sorry for the late reply...I checked the prices at CTC park lane, Hyderabad and got these:
Processor - Intel i5 2500k - 10,200 (OK)
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3-B3 - 10,350
Gigabyte GA-Z68-D2H-B3 - 9,800
Intel 6YB2B3 - 4,900
Intel DH67BL - 4,900 (Not sure which one to take ?)
RAM - Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz 4GB DDR3 - 2750 (OK)
Hard Disk - Seagate 1TB - 2750 (OK)
Case - Cooler Master Elite 430 - 2850 (OK)
PSU - Corsair GS 600W - 3950 (OK)
Graphics Card - Saphire HD 6870 1GB - 12,750 (Not Sure - Looking for a better one if possible)

I am a bit confused about which motherboard to take..are intel motherboards good enough to support the config? and will it be good for the for the future?..please suggest me a good motherboard around 8-10k price range, and about the graphics card, The HD 6870 seems to be a decent card..I just want to know are there any good ones in similar price range? which can give me good fps @1440*900. I have seen some people suggesting the MSI twin frozr 5series card..how are those compared to the HD6 series? Thanks :)

For mobo, get the GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 . It is tremendous value for money and it supports Lucid Logic Virtue, a feature missing in the higher end gigabyte Z68 mobos. In fact it is the cheapest Z68 mobo available which offers every feature of Z68 platform.

Don't go with H67 based mobos as they don't support overclocking of K series processor, main purpose of K series.

If you are open to Online purchase (which is very secure in you buy from reputated site like smcinternational) then get the Sapphire HD 6870 @ 11.3K from smcinternational. I suggested it because @ 1440X900 resolution, HD 6870 is more than enough. Even if you go for a 1920X1080 display, HD 6870 is capable to play all the games in that resolution and when slightly overclocked (900 to 970 MHz) it can easily match the performance of a HD 6950 stock. With the latest 11.6 catalyst driver, its performance has been improved by 10% (5000 and HD 6900 series performance have not been increased),bringing it very near to HD 6950 ,and we can expect more improve in performance with the new drivers. And you are forgetting one thing...If more performance is required in future, you have the option to Crossfire it, getting more performance than a GTX 580.
