Hi

I have a question. When I log on to a PC with a limited user account and try to insert string values, I can do that. Whenever I try to insert a new key or DWORD or the other keys, a message is displayed saying "Error Writing to the Registry". Is there any way to enable the writing in the registry, if you don't have the admin status.

U hv to set the permissions for the keys in regedit!

Login as administrator and open regedit and right-click on the key (on which u want to give permissions) and select "Permissions" and here u can give permissions to the user :)

I don't think its possible if the administrator has disabled these rights.

u may try 3rd party registry editor, may be those s/w allow u to create ur desired keys? :)

You need admin access to edi registry, otherwise what would be the use if any user can access the registry, security of any system would go down the drain.
