What is a RAID controller?
If i have a motherboard which has inbuilt raid support then is it neccessary to have seperate raid controller?plz provide any useful website to understand raid completly. :wink:

When they say that your mobo supports raid, they mean that a raid controller is builtin. So no need for an external controller unless you run out of ide ports.

RAID is reduntant array of inexpensive/independent disks

Read a bit more about software & hardware raid. Genrally (until its a scsi) all raid solution on motherbords are software raids. You donot get that great a performance jump from them.
